Are You Embarrassed By Unsightly Dandruff?
Dandruff is not a life-threatening problem, yet it often threatens your mental peace.
Undoubtedly, you do not wish to be embarrassed by the white flaky dandruff powdered all over your shoulders. It is not surprising that Americans spend $300,000,000 on anti-dandruff products each year. Dandruff affects around 50,000,000 people.
You could well imagine the condition of your scalp with deposits of white flakes
on them. The moment you scratch your scalp, white scales fill up your nail and leave you more vexed and frustrated.
Have you ever thought about its underlying cause? As you know, shedding of skin is a natural phenomenon. The skin of your scalp replenishes every month. The dead cells that previously formed your scalp now make up the dandruff. The presence of negligible dandruff is inevitable. The problem arises only when the presence of dead cells in the form of flakes suddenly increases uncontrollably. The removal process works at a normal pace and soon there is excess-deposits of dead cells on the scalp.
Because of the myriad of over-the-counter products and medicated lotions, you do not need to worry about the problem of dandruff. You just need to find the remedy that works for you. It is easy to control dandruff by using some of the various remedies available. The most convenient method with mild dandruff is to wash your scalp regularly to remove the excess flakes. If you are suffering from stubborn flakes, treatment through a medicated shampoo is the answer. Dandruff is not contagious and it is not a disease!

Follow These Feng Shui Tips And Sleep Better
If you are having problems at the time of falling asleep or you simply wish to improve your sleeping, you should follow the feng shui tips we will detail in the next lines and let this ancient Chinese wisdom help you. It is very important that we pay attention to our sleep due to the fact that it affects all the activities we do during the day as well as it has a direct impact on our health.
First of all, it is very important to avoid sleeping with the head towards the door. According to feng shui, the proper position in which to have the bed and to sleep is in such a place that allows us to see the door but without being right across from it. This way, you should always avoid sleeping with your feet right in front of the entrance.
It is also highly recommendable to avoid sleeping under a window. Sleeping right under a window would have a bad impact on your chi as well as it might cause you to loose some of your positive energy by dispersing it. Also, if your bed is right under the window, any bad chi which could enter into the room through it would go directly to you and therefore affect you. If you can't avoid sleeping under a window, then you should hang a curtain which doesn't allow bad chi to enter.
According to feng shui guidelines, it is also recommendable to avoid having pictures of water in the bedroom. Keeping pictures of water in the bedroom can cause insomnia as well as attract bad luck to those who sleep into the room. Therefore, if you do have a picture of water in your bedroom you should remove it or at least make sure it is as far from the bed as possible.
It is very important to make sure that there isn't any poisoning arrow pointing towards the bed. In order to find out if there are poisoning arrows, you should check for any edgy element or corner which might point towards the place where you sleep. If you find any and you can't get rid of it, you can neutralize its bad effect by covering it or by placing a plant in front of it.

Are Your Really an Emotional Eater? Try this Experiment and
Naturally, if I recommend a diet, I have to try it out on myself. It wouldn't be very fair to do otherwise. I bought some fish, nuts and avocados, and kept to the diet for about two weeks. During that time I can honestly say that I had little desire to eat very much. I wasn't sure if this was caused by the leptin balance, or simply because I told myself I wouldn't want to eat. During the beginning phase of a diet, it's always easy to convince myself that it's working.
Then I had company, and I used it as an excuse to head down to the Cuban restaurant I'd been hearing so much about. It was a treat, and I found more excuses for more treats while my company was in town. For a few days, the diet was forgotten. In just that short time, I became aware of a remarkable difference in the way I felt about food.
Almost immediately after going off the Rosedale diet, I felt compelled to eat everything in sight. It took willpower and commitment to not give into this compulsion.
But I was not hungry! I was no more hungry after I went off the diet than I had been while following the program. What seemed to be missing was the ot hungry signals that tell the brain to quit eating.
Hungry is a feeling that middle-class Americans rarely (if ever) experience. Yet we eat, and eat, and eat. We blame it on cravings, emotions, nerves, and habits. But perhaps Dr. Rosedale is right. We may be missing the ot hungry signals that are needed to turn off our hunt for food.
Another thing I noticed while eating the Rosedale way was that I was actually more interested in food while on the diet than I was during the days when I fell off the program. I mean that I was more interested in the taste of food.
While not on the program, I felt compelled to eat anything that came my way. I had little interest in the flavor, aroma or texture of the food - I simply found myself hunting through the cupboards for anything I could find, then fighting the compulsion.
It wasn't hunger or desire that was pushing me to eat. In fact, there was no bodily sensation at all that could account for my eed to overeat.
Perhaps this is why it is so easy to blame our overeating on our emotions and nerves. If there is no bodily sensation telling us to eat, but we feel compelled to eat anyway, it must be something in our mind that is causing the behavior.
That something can easily be mistaken for an emotional or mental problem, even if it's caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain.
Therapists tell us that we overeat because we are trying to compensate for childhood traumas - Dr. Rosedale tells us that our leptin sensitivity is out of whack because we eat sugar and flour products, and not enough Omega 3 fat. If the ot hungry signals can't get through, our brain will not tell us to stop eating. Without that signal, we don't stop hunting for food.
I love the simplicity of this concept, because anyone can do the same experiment I did - try eating the Rosedale way (it's like a merger between the Okinawa diet and the Mediterranean diet) and then go back to eating whatever you eat now. Pay attention to your behavior around food, and notice if you want more or less food on the diet or off it.
You may not react as I did, but it won't hurt to find out. You may just find a way to let go of the compulsion to overeat, without expensive therapy or even willpower. And that would be a gift for almost all of us.

Attitude Positive!
The advance man of our true selves
Has inward roots but outward fruits
Is our best friend or worst enemy
Is more honest and more consistent than our words
Is an outward look based on past experiences
Is a think which draws people to us or repels them
Is never content until it is expressed
Is the librarian of our past
Is the speaker of our present
Is the prophet of our future
Your attitude, or your willingness to think positively, affects many peoplefrom your family to the stranger you smile at in the grocery store. An optimist will see opportunity in difficulties, while a pessimist will see difficulty in opportunities.
You must choose which you will focus on: if you choose poorly, you will doom yourself to never achieving your goals and being successful. Count on that.
So how do you begin to think positively if you're a natural pessimist? I don't really believe there ARE natural pessimists, just people who have been taught how to consider the darkest side of every cloud.
You cannot change the fact that a problem exists, but you can do a lot to determine what opportunity is within that problem. Begin to see that problems are a fact of life and that your job is to find a way over, around, under, or through themas quickly as possible. When you're upbeat and consider how quickly a problem will be behind you, it's easy to be optimistic.
Cynicism is another killer when it comes to attitude. It's a cousin of pessimismit considers everything suspect and everyone as having an ulterior motive. It never looks at someone handing you a piece of candy just to be nice, it always considers that there is a reason you're being handed the candy and the motivation of the person who's giving it.
Cynicism comes from having unrealistic expectations. Many people expect great and wonderful things to happen to them with little-to-no work on their parts. They expect things to fall from the sky in to their laps. When it doesn't happen as they expect, they become suspicious of others who have achieved success and ultimately, cynical.
You must harness the power of your thoughts and words when setting your course for success. Use positive affirmations daily: remind yourself that a stumbling block is temporary and that you will overcome it; admit to yourself that you are courageous and able to move on when others cannot; agree with your vision for your life and your goals.
As you discipline yourself to do this, you will find optimism and positive thinking chasing you down the street. And who couldn't use these two friends when we're aiming for success?

Balancing the Light and Dark
Integrating my dark side was a fairly torturous process for me, partly because I made it harder than it had to be. Apparently I do that a lot. :)
One of the problems at the time was my inability to get out of my own way and I continually tried to micro-manage the process rather than giving in to it and going where it wanted to take me. Part of that was from my own misconceptions about the light and dark and my reactions to them.
Many of us spend a long time trying to suppress the various elements of our light and dark sides partially because we're taught to believe that light is 'good' and dark is 'evil' as if the 2 extremes didn't exist in all of us.
For example, a lot of healers tend to shy away from the dark side and when it does manifest it's usually in some context that the healer may be shocked by or ashamed of. Thereafter the healer may have a negative connotation with the dark side of their being. Sometimes these connotations can come from events that happen when we're small children or even possibly be hold-overs from past lives.
It's important to find examples of the dark and light that can be manifested positively and enjoyably as everything has to balance and it's unnatural for us to always be one or the other. Music, dance, theatre, movies, martial arts and sexuality are some of the ways that you can find positive examples of both the dark and the light. In reality you can find positive examples anywhere, these are some that I personally enjoy.
This is where the self awareness part of kundalini awakening comes in. You have to know yourself well enough to become comfortable with all the aspects of your personality, and to find creative ways to balance your proclivities. If you spend all day giving reiki treatments and listening to soothing new age music then take some time in the evening and pop in a suitably dark movie or some nice dark music on the stereo. If you choose the music then turn off the lights, close your eyes and do some moving meditation and ecstatic dancing. You might be surprised at what you're able to clean out of your system this way.
What's important here is to learn to be comfortable with your dualities, and then get beyond them. This can be a journey of self discovery that can take you places that you didn't know you could go.
Dealing with Negativity
Once you begin to become comfortable with your dualities you can begin to associate with the positive (good for you) light and dark traits and abilities.
Keeping a positive mindset is extremely important here as you're pushing your comfort levels to new extremes. We usually lump negativity into the 'Dark' category, but having a negative attitude isn't a positive dark trait.
Remember that this is all about developing your own sense of personal mastery. When you give in to negative feelings and emotions then you are giving away your personal power.
Yin/Yang Exercise
Here's an exercise that I've been playing with for a couple of weeks now.
Pick the meditation position that you prefer and take a moment to ground yourself. Do this by letting your energetic roots grow down into the earth and feel the earth energy flow up into you on the inhale, all the way up over your head.
As you exhale release all your stress and tension and let it flow back down into the earth to be recycled. Feel your muscles relax as this stress bleeds out of your body and feel your connection to the earth increase and you draw in each breath. Do this as long as necessary to become relaxed and feel a good connection to the energy.
Now as you inhale, feel the dark earth energy flow up the back side of your body, while simultaneously opening up and feeling the light universal energy flow down through the crown of your head and down the front of your body.
As you exhale see the 2 bands of energy swirl through you and into a yin/yang symbol that encompasses you. Continue at this level til you can do that with one breath comfortably.
The next step is to let loose of your perceptions and BECOME the yin/yang symbol. Feel yourself expand beyond your usual physical boundaries with the light and dark energies swirling through you in perfect balance. If the energy wants to continue spiraling then let it.
Now begin to expand yourself, feeling the connectivity to the light/dark energy in everything around you. It's all the same energy and the parts of it that are in you are also the parts of you that are in it. Feel your energy expand til it fills (feels) the room, now let it expand to fill your house, your city, your state. Continue expanding out through the solar system, then the universe.
This is the energy that's all around us all the time. We're as much a part of it as it's a part of us, and in reality there's NO DIFFERENCE between it/us. We/it encompass everything and we're/it's the basic building blocks for everything that ever was or is.
It's the proper balance of the light/dark/, masculine/feminine, good/bad and positive and negative that holds everything together. For every action there's an equal and opposite reaction is not just a good idea, it's the law.
Take awhile here and feel the connections to the universe within and without. FEEL the swirl of the galaxies within you and visualize them as tiny yin/yangs all swirling together inside a larger yin/yang which is also just another swirl and realize (make REAL) that the dualities don't really exist, that they are just perceptions of the same reality.
Now choose one of the swirling yin/yangs at random and let yourself fall into it. This should be easy since (sense) your connection to everything also gives you unlimited abilities. As you fall into this swirling galaxy you can see that it's made up of billions of swirling little solar systems all made up of little yin/yangs. Choose one at random and flow into it. See the little yin/yangs rotating around a larger one in the center. Choose one of these at random and flow down to it. When you look more closely at it you can see that it is also made up of billions of swirling, individual yin/yangs. Choose one of these and flow into it.
Now without letting go of your connection to the universe, can you open your eyes and feel the light/dark energies swirling all around you? Did you come back down to the same room and body and mindset that you left? Does it matter?
Play with this as there are infinite possibilities and energies to explore.

Attract a dream relationship
You are not the only one as there are an estimated 3 million single people in London alone. And that's a lot of potential dating material. Speed dating is the big thing at the moment, and dating agencies are sprouting. Internet dating is also becoming quite popular.
Everyone dreams of that ideal relationship - one that is full of love and affection. A relationship with someone that you connect with mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. We all want to meet our soul mate.
So how does one find that ideal relationship?
The key thing is to focus on creating your ideal life. To attract and create your ideal relationship, shift your focus away from attracting a partner and wanting a relationship. Focus instead on creating the kind of life that you truly want. The kind of life that excites you so much that you jump out of bed every morning. Once you are in such a clearing, your dream partner can simply walk in and join you. The dream relationship should be the icing on the cake that is your life, and not the end all and be all of your life.
To create your ideal life, ask your self what it is going to be about. What do you want to do for a living and what do you contribute to the world? Where do you want to live and how much money do you want to make? The key is to make your self truly happy right now and also to remain happy regardless of whether you are in a relationship or not.
This is not to say that you don't go in for things like speed dating. Just treat these as fun and social events. The trick with making the most of these events is to focus on your best points and be proud of that. For example, you may have a great smile and so show it off.
To make an impact with your speed dating partner, ask unusual or even outrageous questions such as - what turns you on the most about a person of the opposite sex? This is sure to make an impression rather than the usual questions such as what do you do, and where do you come from. Also, listen to the other person - we have two ears and one mouth - so listen at least twice as much as you talk.
Finally it is okay to be rejected when asking someone out on a date. It is only their opinion and their choice. And with all dating related events, have no attachment to the outcome and have fun. Otherwise why would you even do it?
As for creating a clearing in your life for that dream partner to walk in, here are some tips:
1. Be complete with past relationships. Drop the baggage from the past. Let go of hurts and resentments towards anyone from your past. Forgive and reconcile with that ex-partner who was so mean to you. The true test is to meet such a person from your past and to not feel any negative thoughts.
2. Take stock of how you have behaved in previous relationships. Since by definition you are single, your past relationships have not worked out for whatever reason. And like it or not, that makes you at least 50% responsible for them not working out.
Get clarity on what you contributed to those relationships not working out. Be kind to yourself as you do this. Do not make it an excuse to beat your self up all over again.
3. Review your beliefs about relationships. What do you think should happen at different stages - from courtship to living together? What are your entrenched beliefs about the opposite sex? For example, from your cultural heritage, what are the expected roles and duties of a partner?
4. Get clear about what you want in a relationship. Make the fulfilment of your short term and long term needs the criteria for choosing a partner.
5. Define and get clear about your ideal relationship and partner. Be realistic, and ask what your needs are rather than your wants. What must your relationship have? What are the absolute essentials for you to thrive?
6. Socialise and have fun so as to create a varied, rich life and to be part of a healthy supportive community, and to enhance your life. You will therefore focus not so much on meeting your partner and more on creating a rich vibrant life, one which will be so attractive to a potentially dream catch. Most people usually socialise in various ways so as to meet their dream partner, and by simply having fun and enjoying your life you become so much more attractive.
Make your life work and make room for your ideal partner. Once you have your life working for you, and you are happy, you will indeed attract the right partner.
Remember, you deserve the best. And that includes a dream relationship and the ideal partner. Don't accept second best. Get clear about what you want in your life partner and why - and you can have it.

AthenaMinervaSulis The Many Aspects
Although She is only One, She appears as many forms or goddesses. Each goddess emphasizes an attribute of the one Divine Mother. This is an easy concept to understand when we consider our own earthly mothers. She is the mother of the hearth when she is cooking and feeding us.
She is the warrior mother when someone attacks us and she is protecting us. She is the muse mother when she is inspiring us to do our best. She is the healer when we are sick. Each of perspective are only
one of the aspects she wears in the drama of life for all eternity.
Athena is the Greek virgin goddess of reason, intelligent activity, arts and literature. She sprang full grown from Zeus' head.
She is Zeus' favorite and is allowed to use his weapons including his thunderbolt. She wore a helmet and carrying a spear and
shield, the magic aegis, a goatskin breastplate, fringed with snakes, that produced thunderbolts when shaken.
Athena was different from Ares; she represented the intellectual and civilized side of war. She was a wise and prudent adviser.
Sacred to her are the olive, serpent, owl, lance, and crow.
Although Minerva, the Roman Goddess of war and wisdom, is usually portrayed as equivalent to the Greek goddess Athena, she was originally an Etruscan goddess of dawn. She is revered as a goddess of wisdom, for the light of dawn typifies knowledge. She guides heroes in war and is patroness of all arts, crafts, guilds, and medicine. Called by Ovid he goddess of a thousands works, she was inventor of musical instruments, numbers, and many crafts, including weaving.
The serpent and the owl were sacred to her. The serpent is an emblem of life energy and the creative impulse. The owl the symbol of death and wisdom, and thus Minerva, a goddess of the dawn and of wisdom, is also a goddess of death and transformation. Minerva is an incarnation of wisdom in human form, an affirmation that we can use our knowledge and wisdom in the pursuit of any goal we choose.
Minerva was the Roman goddess of war, wisdom and the crafts.
In Britain at the turn of the 1st millennium CE, Minerva was depicted throughout Celtic Britain in both purely Roman fashion and in the more abstract Celtic style
But in Bath, at the temple of Aquae Sulis she becomes fully equated with a Celtic goddess, Sulis. (1)
So as you see as with our earthly Mother according to the aspect we
are calling on we call on the name that matches that aspect of the Great Mother.Of The Great Goddess
So call her name when you need protection from the warrior mother or wise counsel. Call her by yet another name when you need healing. You can call on her when you need inspiration and a muse to create. She is the great mother the female side of God.

Be Grateful for Gratitude
In Twelve Step meetings, it's traditional to groan when someone says, Let's have a gratitude meeting. People don't like to talk or think about what they're grateful for. It's not in our nature. We're more tuned to what's going wrong than what's going right. We can't help it. The cave men who sat around and admired how white the teeth on the saber toothed tiger were, didn't last long enough to reproduce. The ones who realized those teeth were a bad thing are our ancestors, so to speak.
But gratitude is important. Sometimes I just sit in my office, which I painted and decorated myself after moving into a wonderful new house, and I look at all the hangings on the wall and the things on my desk and the books on my shelves and I remember growing up in a house where I couldn't sleep in my bedroom in the winter because the north wind blew through the window and the room was uninhabitable. And I feel grateful.
Gratitude gets a bad rap as being some sort of feel-good thing, but it's not. Real, true, deep gratitude comes from the soul. It's not some pop-culture thing. It's not something you say to make yourself look good or to make someone else feel good.
Real gratitude is truly appreciating what you have, and feeling it's enough. Sure, there are other things you'd like to have. There always will be. But in gratitude, you realize that if you don't get the new car or the new house, it's enough.
We should be grateful for gratitude because it's one of the fastest ways to appreciate our lives and feel happier. This simple technique, practiced every day, can change your life.

When was the last time you consumed soda? Most likely, it wasn't that long ago. You may even drink several cans or bottles each day. In the U.S, carbonated soft drinks are a huge business. Every year, they generate more than $50 billion in annual sales.
Two companies - Coca-Cola and PepsiCo -- dominate the soda market. They are in a constant battle for the market share of the product - a conflict known as the Cola War. Hundreds of millions of dollars are spent annually for advertising. Not surprisingly, the companies are always looking for new markets. And, increasingly, they are directing their attention to adolescents and children.
For decades, schools have allowed soda to be sold in on-site vending machines. So, generating income for schools from the sale of soda is not a new policy. However, in the early 1990s, pouring-rights contracts emerged. These put a different spin on the sale of soda in schools. And, over the years, they have increasingly gained in popularity.
In return for the exclusive sale of one-company's product, pouring-rights contracts give school districts large lump-sum payments and extra payments and/or gifts over a period of five or 10 years. The contracts provide additional incentives for consumption levels that surpass quotas. So, they tend to encourage the consumption of higher amounts of soda, even by the youngest students. In one of the most extravagant contracts, a 53-school district in Colorado, gave up its Pepsi vending machines and signed an $8 million, 10 year agreement with Coca-Cola that included cash bonuses when sale targets were exceeded and a new car for a senior with high grades and perfect attendance. But, even the smaller contracts tend to be generous. The goal is to create brand loyalty among young people - a loyalty that could continue throughout their lives. Without a doubt, administrators in cash-strapped school districts have a litany of reasons to be enticed. But, adherence to the contracts may be taken to extremes. For example, a Georgia student was suspended when he wore a shirt with a Pepsi logo to a student government-sponsored Coke Day rally.
So what is contained in a typical soda that may be found in a school vending machine? A 20-ounce screw-top plastic bottle of soda has 275 calories. While there are other ingredients such as flavorings and caffeine, the soda is primarily sugar and carbonated water. High in calories and zero in nutritional value, it is the quintessential junk food. The Center for Science in the Public Interest refers to soft drinks as liquid candy. Since the bottles have screw-tops, the liquid may be sipped throughout the day, thereby bathing the teeth with sugar and upsetting dentists. While it is unclear how many sodas a typical student might drink in one day, one is not a bad guess. Just one a day means 1925 empty calories per week. Heavy users drink more than one soda per day. Children who begin drinking soda when they are still young tend to increase the amount they consume through adolescence into young adulthood. Many children drink more soda than juice or milk. While juice and whole milk contain about the same amount of calories as soda, they contain useful vitamins and minerals. Juice and milk are far better nutritional options.
Although the relationship cannot be proven conclusively, soda consumption correlates with obesity. Children who drink sodas take in more calories, are fatter and have worse diets than those who don't. If you need to lose weight, start by replacing sodas with water, fat free or 1% milk, or 100% juice (but not too much).
